Ayah Tarawneh is a Former Judge & Registered Qualified Lawyer in Jordan. She is a bilingual, internationally experienced with a distinguished background in both the civil and common law systems from Jordan and UK. Ayah has extensive experience in litigation, judicial processes, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), specialized in Commercial law and civil litigation in the Middle East and currently develop specialty in Commercial law, personal injury, and clinical negligence in UK. With legal education, training and experience from both Jordan and the UK, she brings a unique, cross-jurisdictional perspective to her legal career, combining judicial expertise with practical legal skills obtained in multiple legal systems.
In Jordan, Ayah was appointed as a District Judge (equivalent) at age 27, overseeing a diverse caseload that included civil, criminal, and commercial disputes. Her judicial experience allowed her to rule on a wide range of matters, from civil, contractual disputes, torts and personal injury claims to Summary criminal offences, where she demonstrated a strong understanding of law and procedure. During her tenure, she significantly contributed to increasing court efficiency through facilitating settlements, reducing case backlogs by 150% on her caseload, and issuing clear, reasoned judgments on complex matters.
Having relocated to the UK, Ayah is currently working as a Commercial law, Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Fee Earner at ESN Solicitors, where she handles cases involving high value commercial disputes, medical malpractice, and personal injuries during the protocol stages. She is adept at managing all stages of the claims process, from the initial instructions, drafting legal documents and instructing medical experts to negotiating settlements and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures at England and Wales.
With a Bachelor degree in Law, Master’s degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Development, Postgraduate Judicial Training from Jordan, and Postgraduate Legal Degrees in the English laws, Ayah brings a wealth of knowledge in both litigation and human rights law. Her extensive training, including alternative dispute resolution, e.g. mediation and arbitration, complements her broad legal expertise.
Ayah is also actively involved in the community development, having founded a non-profit initiative for three years in Jordan focusing on youth leadership and empowerment. A native Arabic speaker, Ayah is fluent in English on professional level and has the ability to work across cultures and jurisdictions.
